Grinding
Niobium and its alloys can be difficult
to grind. Most grinding wheels will quickly load, making selection
and application of grinding fluid crucial to obtaining a good
finish. Care must also be taken to prevent the metal surface
from heating up during grinding to prevent a surface hydrogen
pickup. Specific guidelines for the different grinding types
are shown in Tables 15 Ð 18.
