Photo-Micrographs
Wah Chang provides many lab, chemical and metallurgical
services to their internal and external customers. One of
these services produces photomicrographs. These
high-magnification, high-resolution photographs show the
microstructure of metals, which helps in refining
products. Some truly beautiful images are also produced.
Analytical Laboratory Services
- More than 40 years of experience
The Analytical Testing laboratories at Wah Chang have been
in existence since 1957, when quality control of the
manufacture of zirconium metal was initiated. We have
grown to our present size of more than 50 chemists and
technicians, whose experience includes chemical analysis
of metals, oxides, ores and alloys of Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Mo,
Ti, and V.
We have also worked in developing methods for the
analysis of iron, steel and high-temperature alloys. And,
because of environmental control on plant effluents, we
have developed expertise in the fields of air and water
analysis. We have participated in round-robin testing
programs set up by NIST for certifying standard reference
materials.
Assurance of Quality
Our Quality Control System assures compliance with customer
quality system specifications as required by specification,
contract or order. We are approved to provide analytical testing
services for customers currently supplying components material
for the U.S. Navy nuclear program and the aircraft and aerospace
industries.
An internal qualification program qualifies all testing
personnel and work is performed according to test
procedures specified by the customer. If test procedures
are not specified, Wah Chang will utilize an appropriate
procedure referenced to standard methods; to literature
citations from respected journals; or to in-house
developed procedures.
Rapid Service
Our laboratory is staffed seven days per week giving us a
greater flexibility in scheduling work. Many routine
samples can be completed in 5 days or less. More difficult
samples are usually completed in 5 to 10 working days.
Depending on the analyses requested and the number of
samples, we can often provide expedited service.
With overnight delivery services and/or the use of FAX,
your analytical results can be delivered to you in a
timely manner.
Versatility
The analytical laboratories are capable of performing a
wide variety of inorganic analyses using various
analytical techniques. You will find details on available

analyzed by more than one technique, individual
consultation is recommended to find the best solution to
your problem.
